 Recreation & Parks Project

Nobleford Recreation and Parks

In July 2004 Council directed Administration to draft a plan for enhancement of Nobleford Recreation and Parks in the interest of a healthy lifestyle community. Council adopted a plan that included the creation of a formally organized Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee consisting of individuals from Nobleford and the surrounding community. This organized committee has spent numerous hours focusing on evaluating, researching and planning and has made recommendation to Council on unfinished and new Village projects. To assist in the realization of these projects Council directed Administration to apply for a $114,050.00 Community Facility Enhancement (CFEP) grant from the Province of Alberta to support a portion of the initial $228,000.00 cost of phase one projects. Council budgeted $30,000.00 to match donations raised by the Committee. In February 2006 the Village was granted $90,000.00 from CFEP. The committee continues to seek donations in support of these projects.

As of March 18, 2006,  there is $9075.00 in committed donations:

Atco gas commitment of support toward shrubs and trees of                                                   $7500.00
