Dear Citizens of Nobleford,
The Village of Nobleford has always been home to enthusiastic and innovative entrepreneurs.
The very existence of Nobleford was founded on the dreams and ambitions of the agricultural
and business pioneers of the early 1900’s. The environment of today holds many unrealized
opportunities in Nobleford for those who seek the challenge. In an effort to foster positive
progress, the Council of the Village of Nobleford is planning for more success.
The Village is building a solid infrastructure that will support growth. In 2004/2005, it secured
a franchise agreement with an electrical energy provider, adopted a municipal development
plan, reviewed and revised many bylaws, established policies and procedures. It approved an
unprecedented 2.9 million dollar budget for 2005 based on sound financial management. A
state-of-the-art water treatment plant, that is near completion will double the current water
capacity. Plans for 2005/2006 include refurbishment of the existing curbs, gutters, sidewalks,
gravel alleyways and asphalt streets. The Village is planning for a new residential and possible
industrial subdivision for 2006/2007. Village Council has adopted, in principle, a five-year,
million dollar recreation and parks plan to create a desirable, safe and affordable community to
actively live in and raise our families. Council will also be preparing a five-year capital budget
and will attempt to secure practical regional agreements that will improve the community. All
of this takes time and effort to be realized.
Responsible planning and management, committed accountability and intelligent ambition are
the fundamentals council is basing the future of Nobleford on. One of the objectives of council
is to identify and facilitate positive economic development opportunities. In conjunction with
the June, 2005 census, council is asking for your cooperation in completing an economic
survey. This economic survey can assist council in making decisions as to the direction
they take in vitalizing Nobleford’s business sector. It is your ideas, concepts, suggestions
and efforts, that will be used to help shape the future.
