AUGUST 11, 2007 INVITATION
Parks Canada and the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada are
pleased to announce a ceremony to commemorate the national historic
significance of Charles S. Noble.
The event will be held at the Nobleford School, in Nobleford, AB
on Nobleford Heritage day, August 11, 2007,
Doors open at 2:45 with displays and entertainment,
the ½ hour ceremony will begin at 3:30 pm.
This event is open to the public and you are encouraged to invite all those that would appreciate sharing in
this special occasion.
Charles Noble is being recognized as a noted farmer, inventor, and entrepreneur
who played a key role in demonstrating the agricultural potential of the
drought-prone Palliser triangle. He invented the Noble Blade, and produced much
of the machinery for dry-land farming in the second half of the 20th century.

Summer Fun 2007
We are mid way thought the 2007 Summer Fun Program with up to 30 Children per day attending. If you are 5 to 11 years
old and looking for some fun, come on over to the Nobleford Community Complex between 10 and 3:00 pm Monday
through Friday. Bring your Friends. The charge will be $3.00/day or $10.00/week
All Children are welcome to bring their own lunch and stay at the complex to eat or can go home for lunch. If financial
assistance is required in order to attend, please speak to the Village CAO, in confidence, we want to include everyone.
Throughout the program we will have some specific theme/dress up days. Everyday we will have new crafts and activities.
Due to a cooperative agreement with Picture Butte, we will be going swimming at the Picture Butte Pool 3 times during the
program and taking a bus.
Special thanks to the Picture Butte Community bus for providing transportation.
If you are over 14 years old and would like to assist with the program by Volunteering, please contact the Coordinator or
Village office. If you are over 16 and under 100, and would like to work on a casual as needed basis $8.00 per hr, please
contact the Summer Fun Coordinator or Village Office Municipal Secretary or CAO.

have each contributed over 5 hours of labor totaling a collective 500 hours.

A Chance to Help
A Chance to be Remembered July, 2007
The Nobleford Parks and Recreation Committee invites you to sponsor part of a paved pathway. The 5 year plan will
include a paved 5 kilometer walking path wandering through our parks, recreation facilities and nature environments,
numerous historical interpretive stations with rest facilities. Phase one of the pathway is 2 kilometers long. Phase 2 is an
additional 3 kilometers and will be on the east side of the Village. Your donation at $10 per meter will be gratefully
acknowledged on a permanent display. You also have an opportunity to sponsor park benches ($500), picnic tables
($800) and garbage receptacles ($300). Your donation will be acknowledged on a plaque at the specific site. There are
GOLD ($500 and up), Silver ($100 to $499) and Bronze under $100) categories of donation.

The Corporations and individuals that have collectively contributed over $45,000.00 to this project between January 1,
2006 and May 15, 2007, are recognized on a permanent sign in Kenex Park. There will be similar signage placed to
recognize future contributors.
